The Issues with Trump

Adonia Allen-Versosa

On June 16, 2015, Donald Trump, businessman/real estate mogul and television personality, announced that he planned to run for President of the United States. Throughout his campaign, he’s made discriminating comments on women, minorities, immigrants (especially from Mexico), and his running mates, all while promising to “make America great again” without actually saying how. Yet, he seems to be racking in votes and support from Americans who fall under the Republican Party and gets closer and closer to getting the Republican nominee. He’s been endorsed by a former KKK grand wizard, retweeted a quote made by famous Fascist Italian dictator, Benito Mussolini (The quote stated, “It is better to live one day as a lion than 100 years as a sheep), and has been continuously compared to Adolf Hitler for his policies on immigration. Additionally, the violence at his rallies and the pure hatred his supporters spew out have been continually reported by major news stations. If this man seems to be such an issue and an initiates the hatred that has been overlooked in this country, why is he winning?
Like previously stated, Donald Trump has been parading this “Make America Great Again” slogan around every since he began his presidential campaign. However, he has not given any solutions or ideas he has on making America great besides deporting Mexicans and building walls around the U.S to secure our borders. He has not created any foreign policy nor has he made any plans to stop terrorist group, ISIS. All he has done is treat the presidential election and the future of this country like a joke.  It’s all utterly and completely ridiculous. Various news stations have reported on when the real Donald Trump will come out and who he really is. If you do not know who your potential president really is, how do you know if he’s going to make decisions in the best interest for your country? The United States have never looked like bigger idiots to other nations than ever before. The fact that we are actually supporting the utter nonsense and lack of direction that Donald Trump has been campaigning shows who we are as a nation. We did not make improvements and rebuild relationships to have someone as politically ignorant as Donald Trump to ruin all of President Obama’s accomplishments. If we want to evolve further as a country and be a symbol of freedom and democracy, we need a leader who will get us there and Donald Trump isn’t it.
