Monthly Emergency Drills

Perkins, Makaila, Reporter

Would you know what to do during an emergency? Monthly drills teach us about what to do in case of an emergency so that you can be as safe as possible if anything really does happen. During drills, teachers and students are supposed to follow the procedures given for that certain drill. For example, during a fire drill, the classes are instructed to wait until building is clear to evacuate, leave the building through the nearest exit while the students stay with their teachers. In a hard lockdown drill, the teachers must lock the doors, turn the lights off, and move the class to the part of the room where there’s no windows and remain quiet. Practicing these things frequently prepares you in case of a real emergency.
