Senior Projects took place on April 1st, 2016 here at East Career and Technical Academy. Every year students get the opportunity to research a topic of their choice and showcase them to their fellow peers.
There was a particular project that stood out from the rest, in our eyes. Our fellow peers, Karla Guillen and Esmeralda Horta did not just meet the requirements but went above and beyond what was expected. Karla and Esmeralda partnered up with a local Thrifty’s ice cream franchise and established new marketing ideas to help improve their business. They designed new business cards, coupons, and uniforms for their employees.
We asked Karla and Esmeralda what the most challenging part of the project was and their response was them getting Thrifty’s to partner up and trust them. Both young ladies loved to see the business grow. In their personal experience, their project was very challenging and for that reason they decided to start working on it during their Junior Year. Both Karla and Esmeralda wanted to help advertise and expand a business, so that motivated them to choose this topic as their Senior Project, which related to their program, marketing.
