East Tech “Brings Back the Gold” at RTC 2015

After a long 3-hour spirit battle, East Tech brings the spirit stick back home. On October 3, 2015, East Tech’s Key Club went to Green Valley High School for RTC.  It was a long journey and it paid off in the end! Key Club won not only the division stick, but also the spirit stick for the whole region.  As the name suggests, the spirit stick is given to the school with the most spirit.  According to the judges, “East Tech was loud and clear.  The songs flowed well and we could easily understand what you were saying.”

RTC stands for Region Training Conference. At RTC, Key Clubbers learn the essentials for being a better member for the club. Key Clubbers learn through several different workshops that are available. Some examples of these workshops include: Ronald McDonald Playhouse (this workshop actually gives you service hours), Finding Service, and “What is Key Club?”

At the Cheer Off, Key Clubs from schools all across the valley face off against each other and scream their hearts out at each other. The winner is determined by volume, clarity, and overall spirit. East Tech was able to make it all the way to the finals where they faced off against SWCTA and Valley. In the end ECTA pulled out on top and was able to bring back the spirit stick after a long 2 years.
