As the days go by, the Marketing and Hospitality students grow more anxious and excited for this years ICDC. Every year, the qualifying finalists from the DECA State Career and Development Conference (SCDC) take it a step further and compete in DECA’s International Career Development Conference (ICDC).

More than 10,000 DECA members demonstrate their college and career knowledge and skills by participating in DECA’s Competitive Events Program. They are finalists from their chartered associations hoping to be named an international champion.

The International Career Development Conference is a conference in which over eighteen thousand high school students, advisors, businesspersons, and alumni gather to develop knowledge and skills for college and careers. East Tech’s 2017 SCDC finalists will be flying out to Anaheim, California on April 25 and will be flying back on April 30th. The ICDC conference will be taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center from April 26-29. Students have been preparing for a long time, and are excited not only to go and compete for a chance of winning scholarships and awards, but also to get to spend time in California and have fun.

The 44 students along with their advisors are lucky enough to be staying at the Disneyland Hotel. While there, students will have the opportunity of going to Disneyland, California Adventures, Universal Studios, Twilight, and many other festivities. The students are sure to have a memorable time, and we hope to see them bring back some medals as they represent East Tech.
