FCCLA State Competition

Gabby Weis

More than 250 students from FCCLA chapters across the state of Nevada will be competing in nearly 30 competitive events to validate their skills, knowledge, and aptitude for family and consumer sciences.

This year Nevada FCCLA will be hosting the state competition in Reno on March 10th– March 13. Congratulations to all of East Tech students who are participating in an event, we hope you bring home lots of gold medals.

This year the state theme is Monopoly, teaching over the next couple of days that “life’s more than a game with FCCLA” Over the course of the competition, there will be opportunities to go out and network with other chapters by going to workshops and sessions that will be available to you.

Our very own East Tech chapter has over 25 students attending. We also have one of our own that will be running to be a state officer. Jamie, a freshman this year has been brave enough to step out there and accept the duties and responsibilities of becoming an officer for 2015-2016. We wish you the best of luck, and hope you win.

Our competitors have spent more than two months working on their projects; if you see any of them in hallways, wish them luck. A little bit of encouragement goes a long way!

We want all our students to have a great and be safe trip in Reno. Just remember to stay calm and never let the pressure overwhelm you. Whether it is a gold or bronze you win, know that East Tech will be very proud of all. GOOD LUCK!!!
