Unsolved (TV Show Review)


The Unsolved TV show is a true crime anthology series that covers unsolved crimes. The first season covered the murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. based on the book Murder Rap: The Untold Story of the Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations by the Detective Who Solved Both Cases. 


Season one delves into the police investigations by Detective Kading and Detective Russel Poole into the controversial murders of Tupac and Biggie Smalls. Showing the scene of September 7th, 1996, Tupac traveling in a black BMW with the founder of Death Row Records Suge Knight. At 11:15 PM, they were coming back from the Seldon and Tyson fight earlier heading on to Club 662. They stopped at the red light in the middle of Las Vegas waiting for the light to change when a white Cadillac pulled alongside of them – 14 shots were fired. Tupac got hit 6 times, puncturing one lung.


Six days later Tupac was pronounced dead, at age 25. Two decades later, no one has been convicted of the crime, making it remain unsolved. In the show it goes back to the case looking at who might’ve been connected to the murder. They covered each suspect going from Orlando Anderson (who he assaulted in the club the same night), Sean Combs, and Suge Knight.


Later In the season it covers the assassination of Biggie Smalls, which occured on March 9th, 1997. The hip hop artist was shot 4 times in a drive by shooting in Los Angeles, California, one of which was fatal.
